January 2024 Executives on the Move in Beauty

Executives are on the move across the beauty sector, from emerging brands to strategics. This month saw a wave of high-profile departures like Chanel's Christine Dagousset; Armani Beauty's Véronique Gautier; and Maggie Chan, CEO of Sephora Greater China, while emerging brands Rhode Skin, Augustinus Bader, Eighth Day, and Merit all fortified their ranks.Nick Vlahos joins Hailey Bieber's skincare company Rhode Skin as Chief Executive Officer, replacing Melanie Bender, who departed in October 2023. Vlahos joins from The Honest Company where he was chief executive.Christine Dagousset, Chanel's Global Open Innovation Officer, has left the company. The beauty industry veteran joined the company in 1998 as Senior Vice President of Global Skincare, quickly rising through the ranks. In 2014, she was named Global President of the Fragrances and Beauty Division before being named Global Long-Term Development Officer.Group co-founder, Priyanka Gill, has been appointed to The Good Glamm Group Board and Chairperson at Good Media Co., taking on a more strategic role. Gill will join Kalaari Capital as a Venture Partner, leading the CXXO–A Kalaari Capital Initiative.The Global President of Armani Beauty, Véronique Gautier, has stepped down from the role after 13 years. Gautier joined the L'Oréal-owned brand in 2010 from Jean Paul Gaultier, after serving as Chair and President for two years.Richard Pinabel has been appointed Armani Beauty's new Global Brand President, succeeding Gautier.Sephora appointed Anca Marola as its new Global Chief Digital Officer, succeeding Marc Abergel in the role.
